Nichols Canyon

Nichols Canyon Named for John G. Nichols, a mayor of Los Angeles in the 1800s, this area has a natural, year-round, spring-fed creek, numerous waterfalls, and abundant wildlife, giving the area a wild, country feel even though it is sandwiched between bustling Hollywood Boulevard and Mullholland Drive. Nichols Canyon is laced with hiking trails that residents use to connect with the trails of nearby Runyon Canyon. This area has an eclectic mix of homes of all architectural styles, but offers a complete mid-century neighborhood just north of Woodrow Wilson Drive: The Colony, whose homes were mostly designed by architect Ed Fickett.

Boundaries: The Hollywood Hills east of Mount Olympus and west of Outpost Estates. It begins at Hollywood Blvd. on its south end and snakes its way north into the hills below Mulholland Drive.
