Trousdale Estates

Trousdale Estates An exclusive, low-density residential neighborhood that has become one of the hottest neighborhoods for A-list celebrities. Carved out of the original Doheny ranch (of which Greystone Manor was the main house) in 1954, 410 acres were sold to developer Paul Trousdale and 535 luxurious, mostly mid-century homes were built by such architectural luminaries as Wallace Neff, Paul Williams and Harold W. Levitt. Many of the homes in Trousdale are single-level height on sprawling properties with stunning city-to-ocean views. Currently, zoning and the governing Home Owner Association strictly limits building height in Trousdale, keeping homes to a single story. Sitting securely behind increasingly more private gates on lushly landscaped lots, home prices range from $3 million up to $50 million as older, unrenovated homes are being snapped up and transformed into contemporary showcases. Trousdale Estates residents enjoy the convenience of quick access to nearby Beverly Hills retail areas, yet they are surrounded by canyon tranquility and privacy. This area is patrolled by a private security company.

Boundaries: East of Carla Ridge, north of Doheny Road, West of North Hillcrest Drive, and roughly south of Loma Vista Drive.

Past and Present Celebrity Residents: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Groucho Marx, Ellen DeGeneres, Vera Wang.
