Beverly Hills Post Office (BHPO) When Beverly Hills was incorporated in 1914, the northern border of the city was approximately a mile north of Sunset Boulevard. The remaining section stretching north to Mulholland Drive was left to the city of Los Angeles. Starting in 1963, mailing addresses in the Beverly Hills Post Office became “Beverly Hills, CA 90210‚ though the properties themselves lie outside of the Beverly Hills city limits and receive Los Angeles public services. Hence, the name the words Beverly Hills ‚Post Office‚ were added at the end. Most of the luxury gated communities in Los Angeles are in BHPO including The Summit; Mulholland Estates; Beverly Ridge Estates; Bowmont Estates; and one of the most expensive and famous gated communities in the United States, Beverly Park. With the exception of these large estates in gated communities, the homes in BHPO are, on average, between $2 and $4 million with styles running the gamut from small traditional homes to mid-century to new construction Mediterranean. There are two large state parks in the BHPO canyons called Tree People Park (Coldwater Canyon Park) and Franklin Canyon Park that offer activities for locals to enjoy such as weekend summer concerts, moonlight or dusk neighborhood group walks, nature photography, and campfire events. With incredible vistas and proximity to both Beverly Hills and the Valley communities of Studio City and Sherman Oaks, BHPO residents enjoy the best of both worlds!
